We are proud to have been prequalified for the development and transformation of the historic Slagteribygningen (the Slaughterhouse Building) at Faaborg Harbour. The project represents a significant opportunity to contribute to sustainable, locally rooted growth in Faaborg - a town renowned for its strong cultural and architectural character.
Faaborg is defined by its beautiful location in the South Funen Archipelago, its rich and varied architectural heritage – from well-preserved half-timbered houses to a distinctive post-industrial harbour environment – and its active, engaged local community.
The vision for the Slagteribygningen is to establish a new cultural and experiential gathering point, serving as a catalyst for local entrepreneurship, associations, and community life throughout the year. The project also seeks to attract visitors from across Denmark and beyond, reinforcing Faaborg’s position as a destination for tourism and sustainable urban development.
We are undertaking the role of lead consultant within a strong, interdisciplinary team comprising Rørbæk og Møller Arkitekter – now part of Schmidt Hammer Lassen – along with Lendager Arkitekter, BOGL, WSP Denmark, and Fælleshaven.
We look forward to realising the project’s potential in close dialogue with Faaborg-Midtfyn Municipality, the local community and other stakeholders.
