Shenzhen Energy Ring Receives Honourable Mention at The Plan Awards 2024

We're proud to announce that the Shenzhen Energy Ring has received an Honourable Mention in the Public Space Completed category at THE PLAN Award 2024. 

The Shenzhen Energy Ring is one of the world's largest waste-to-energy plants, processing approximately 5,000 tons of domestic waste daily—about a quarter of Shenzhen's total. Beyond its primary function, the facility serves as an educational hub, offering exhibitions and walking tours that provide insights into waste management and energy production. Its design features a tapered and tilted lattice drum with a diameter of 324 meters, efficiently housing the plant's operations while minimising environmental impact. The surrounding landscape park and permeable façade enhance the connection between the facility and its natural environment, promoting community engagement and learning.
