Rethinking the Future Awards 2025 Announces Boston Commonwealth Pier as Winner in the Commercial (Concept) Category
We’re thrilled to announce that Boston Commonwealth Pier has been named the winner of the Commercial (Concept) category at the Rethinking the Future Awards 2025.
The large-scale transformation of what was once the world’s largest seaport will revitalise the impressive Neo-Classical main building and its adjoining 1914-era warehouses. By restoring and enhancing original details and inherent architectural qualities, the project recaptures the grandeur of the historic structures, while strategic interventions drive the transformation into a vibrant and multifaceted urban destination – strengthening connections between the city and the harbour front, and among people.
Complemented by a new recreational harbour promenade, Boston Commonwealth Pier will be woven into the city's urban fabric as a place that, through a diverse range of public amenities, engages a broad and varied audience.
