The Life Science & Bioengineering building at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) receives the highest recognition in the ’Excellent Architecture’ category at the German Design Award 2025.

From the jury statement:

- The university building impresses with its innovative spatial composition which promotes cross-disciplinary meetings and creates an inviting atmosphere. The thorough design intelligently combines light and materials, especially timber, while the flexible structure allows for dynamic use of its spaces.

The Life Science & Bioengineering B202 at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) brings together DTU Aqua, DTU Food Institute, and DTU Veterinary Institute. It is designed to foster cross-disciplinary collaboration among the 800 employees who work within its premises. This emphasis on interdisciplinary connections is reflected in the building’s innovative layout and design, creating a highly functional, state-of-the-art environment for research and collaboration.

“This recognition cements our ambition to create architecture that promotes research and knowledge sharing at the highest level”, says partner Anders Wesley Hansen.
