With respect for Eva and Nils Koppel’s original 1974 architecture, the renovation of Building 116 at DTU demonstrates how light can transform and enhance existing structures. Here, the close collaboration between the client, architects, artists, and lighting designers has resulted in a spatial experience that inspires at all hours: a modern, welcoming environment where functionality, flexibility, and aesthetic quality support the diverse activities of campus life.
A heartfelt thank you to DTU, EKJ Consulting Engineers, Lightscapes, and visual artist Malene Bach for their invaluable collaboration and contributions to the project.
