For over two decades, we’ve worked alongside ARoS to support the museum’s evolving approach to presenting contemporary art. As ARoS has grown and refined its vision – becoming the world-class destination for modern art lovers it is today – its physical spaces have been thoughtfully reimagined to reflect that ambition.
We’ve been part of this journey from the beginning, designing the museum building that opened in 2004. Set into Aarhus’s sloping terrain, the original cubic structure has since been crowned by Olafur Eliasson’s Your Rainbow Panorama. With the opening of the Salling Gallery – a semi-underground, 1,000 m² extension that also serves as the entrance to The Dome, a skyspace by world-renowned artist James Turrell – ARoS reaches a significant milestone in realising its most ambitious project to date.
The Salling Gallery is dedicated to new, site-specific works by contemporary artists working across installation, video, and performance. It opens with Lost Property, a new exhibition by British artist and filmmaker Jenkin van Zyl.
We’re extremely honoured to be part of ARoS’s journey and thrilled that the public will now have access to the Salling Gallery, launching with an outstanding exhibition!
