The challenge has been to create a building that is animated with water. A building where architectural disposition, façades and materials direct visitors’ attention to the adjacent, changing landscapes of the Oresund as well as the many basins and aquariums inside.
With its characteristic shape, the architectural expression makes an unforgettable impression on visitors – whether seen from land, sea or air. At the same time the organic mode of expression creates a direct reference to nature and the maritime world.
