Description:
Sparekassen Østjylland Head Office displays a lucid architectural idiom in that the two-storey structure is clearly defined by means of two continuous folded steel sheets atop a striking base of natural stone which absorbs the variations in level of the complex ground.
The folds contain separate offices on two levels surrounding a covered atrium area, and between the folds bridges are used as open-plan offices and work break areas. On the arrival side facing southwest, the building comprises two storeys above ground and one below.
Where the atrium floor at the entrance level segues into seating stairs, a connection is established down to the ground floor, which houses meeting functions and the canteen and provides direct access to terraces and garden courts on a level with the ground.
