Description:
The Kromann Reumert head office is a modern and flexible office building set in an attractive site on Copenhagen’s northern waterfront – Kalkbrænderihavnen.
Comprised of a large right-angled U-shape that rests on a solid base, the building embraces a courtyard. Its ground plan is symmetrical, consisting of two wings that are connected by a striking foyer building which houses the entrance area. The symmetry is broken, however, by the presence of three floating, curvilinear overhanging balconies in the transparent foyer volume, which incorporates a number of the shared functions.
Distinctive, specially designed furnishings contribute to the sharply individual design of the interior space. The offices are positioned so as to allow visual contact both to the foyer and the courtyard, as well as offering views out towards the extensive docks. The façades are articulated by louver systems of steel and granite that filter the light and act as a discreet shield.
