Description:

The Lithuanian project is situated in the rapidly growing Snipiskes district of Vilnius and is a part of the ambitious strategy of creating a new and vivid quarter in the capital of Lithuania.

The aim of the winner proposal is to think of the architecture as a process rather than as a final, static building. The vast area of more than 50,000 square metres is distributed among three independent buildings which can be built in separate building phases – and in any sequence that is found desirable at the time. When all three buildings are constructed they will create a forth element in the project, that is the inner, green space combining the three buildings.

Each of the three constellations comprises individual units. In the north-eastern part of the site, an architectural peak has been added to the volume, whereby the height is escalated in a rotational movement from the lowest element in the south east towards the tallest element in the northeast. The buildings are situated displaced from each other resulting in interesting interactions with the other volumes within the block.

The offices are located in the highest building, which gives an opportunity for company exposure due to its landmark character. The north-western building contains offices and residential units on the top floors positioned to receive good sunlight and views. The hotel is located in the foremost building and has easy access towards Konstitucjos. On the ground floor, retail shops are directly accessible from the main streets to contribute to urban life along and through the city block.

In total the complex contains 26,500 square metres of office space, 9,000 square metres of hotel space, 6,500 square metres of housing, 5,000 square metres of retail and other public functions along with 500 parking spaces in a to-storey basement parking.
