Description:

ILVA home furnishing store in Aarhus was the first ILVA store outside Zealand, and it has been rewarded with several architectural awards since its construction in 1993. The opening of ILVA in Jutland meant a serious change in ILVA's marketing and shop concept and placed ILVA in a new league within retail.

The furnishing store is located facing the heavily busy exit road to Randers, and the architecture has clear references to the stop & shop principle.

Rebuild

In 1998-1999 schmidt hammer lassen architects did a 2,000 square metres large rebuild and extension of ILVA Aarhus. Half of the warehouse was rebuilt and there was inserted a new first floor to be included into the business area.
