Description:
Danfoss’s headquarters on Als has undergone a major façade renovation as well as a refurbishment and extension of both the reception and the executive and board facilities.
The façade has been reclad with granite and new windows have been installed. The two uppermost floors have been refurbished and fitted with new executive and board facilities, while the new reception building is designed as a granite-faced freestanding buck beneath which a glazed rectangular and a circular volume are placed. Here is the main entrance, the foyer, a cinema and an outdoor pond.
As an arrival point, the reception building is given emphasis by an elliptical canopy constructed from plastic composite. This material recurs in the organically looping futuristic reception counter which unites aesthetics and functionality.
In the refurbished interior, the design includes transparent glazed walls broken by wooden boxes that function as shelving systems. Elsewhere, integrated into the walls, are rectangular glass cases in which selected products are displayed.
