Description:
The ferry terminal of Color Line - Norway’s largest cruise ferry shipping company - is built in Hirtshals in the north-western part of Denmark to serve the destination Hirtshals-Stavanger-Bergen.
The building speaks its own language as to what business Color Line is in with the ship-like terminal and administration office. When the ferry is in dock, it signals widely that here is the ferry terminal, and when the ferry has departed, the terminal adopts this role.
The building with the sharply edged hull, bottle green portholes and the slender lines along the wooden gunwale clearly makes it a purposeful landmark for the seaward approach to Hirtshals. Azure blue is the dominating colour of the interior as well as for the funnel on top of the building.
